Foiled Gift Boxes

Good Morning!

I made another box, and this one is huge. The finished item is 6 inches long, 4 inches high and 3-1/2 inches wide.

The box base was made using two pieces of A4 Whisper White card stock cut down to 11 by 7-1/2 inches.

Score the long side at 4 and 10 inches. Cut away one of the skinny rectangles to leave a tab for assembly.

Score the short side at 4 inches. At the 5 inch mark, score only up to the first horizontal score line. This 1 inch section will form a tab.

Adhere the two panels together by overlapping the base sections. Fold up the flaps a secure with strong tape.

The lids used 12 by 12 sheets of Foil Frenzy designer paper. Cut one side down to 9-1/2 inches.

Leave a 1/16 inch gap when placing the paper on to the Simply Scored tool, then score all four sides at 3 inches.

The boxes were then tied with complimentary ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below.

Congrats #FMS318

Hi there,

Another fun sketch challenge from FMS for today’s project.

I decided to give Christmas a break and designed this cute congrats card.

I have used So Saffron card stock cut to 1 inch and 2 inch strips and adhered them to a Whisper White card base.

A 2-1/4 by 4 inch piece of white card stock was stamped with an image from the Flower Shop set. This was added to the card with dimensionals.

Two additional flowers were stamped in Rose Red ink and cut with the coordinating punch.

The greeting was taken from Sunshine Sayings. The Leaf Punch was used to cut Lemon Lime Twist card for a pop of extra colour.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Triangular Treat Box

Good Morning,

These boxes are really easy to make in short space of time. No tabs or wedges to cut!

The only thing to work out is how big the final product needs to be which might require a little trial and error.

For my project, I started with a 10 by 6 inch piece of DSP.

The long side was scored at the halfway point, 5 inches.

A mark was made on the short side at the halfway point, 3 inches.

Using a straight edge and scoring tool, add 4 score lines by connecting the centre score line with the mark. The end result will create a diamond shape. Fold and burnish the score lines.

To assemble the box, bring together the sides and secure with adhesive.

Punch a small hole on both sides of the opening to allow ribbon to be threaded through. Pulling the ribbon tight will pinch the box closed.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below.

Christmas Blessings #GDP118

Hi folks,

Its time for a sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project this week. See what the design team made here.

This is my design.

The card base was made using Garden Green card stock.

The card layer was embossed using the Sparkle embossing folder. A 2 inch strip of tartan paper from the Christmas Around The World DSP collection was adhered with Fast Fuse to the debossed side.

Some Linen Thread was wrapped around and tied in to a bow, with a silver Foil Snowflake layered on top.

The sentiment was taken from Christmas Pines which I stamped on black card with versamark and heat embossed with white powder.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Pretty Boxes

Good morning,

I thought I would share these boxes I have made to house some Christmas gifts. So pleased with them.

Sadly, the Year of Cheer DSP has now sold out, but the dimensions can be applied to any other card stock.

The box has been designed to be 3-1/2 inches cubed when complete.

For the base I cut card stock to 10-1/2 inches square and scored all four sides at 3-1/2 inches.

Each corner was cut away, leaving only a tab for adhesive. Bring the sides together and secure with strong double sided tape.

The lid is reinforced and used a full sheet of 12 by 12 inch DSP or card stock.

To ensure the lid fitted over the base, leave a small (about 1/16 inch) gap next to the left hand butt bar of the Simply Scored tool.

Each side was scored at 1-3/4 and 4-1/4. Cut away three sections, (an ‘L’ shape) from each corner and form a tab for adhering the box together. The lid was assembled by bringing the sides in first to make each corner. The additional tabs were then folded in and secured with strong double sided tape.

Copper Trim and Gold Natural Trim were wrapped around each box.

Matching tags were cut from the waste card stock using the Everyday Label punch.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Also check out the sale, some products have already sold out. The clearance rack has also been updated with some items significantly reduced.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #007

Good Morning,

I am taking part in the Inspire.Create.Challenge today.

This week it’s a colour challenge!

You can see what the Design Team created here

This was such a festive combination so I have created a Christmas project.

The centre panel for stamping was cut to 3-1/4 inches square.

The edges of the panel were stamped using the Peace This Christmas stamp set.

Starting with Pear Pizzazz, the fir branch covered the entire edge.

Working in threes, Tranquil Tide ink was used to add the leaves and berries. This was also used to add some detail to the feast of the panel.

Pine cones were stamped in Crumb Cake ink, and the berries in Real Red.

The sentiment was added to the middle using Black Memento ink.

The panels were adhered to another Whisper White square measuring 3-1/2 inches.

For the white card, this was simply adhered with dimensionals.

The other card was made from Tranquil Tide card stock. The stamped panel was then added to some Real Red card stock measuring 3-5/8 inches square before adhering to the card base.

I hope you enjoyed this project. Thanks for stopping by and happy Stampin’!

December Birthday

Hi Folks,

Today’s post is part of the Pootles Birthday blog hop. Please visit the other blogs on the hop for some additional inspiration.

I have chosen Birthday Memories DSP for my background which determined the colours I used for the rest of the card.

I selected Pacific Point card stock for the card base. I added some interest by stamping the Brushstrokes background across the centre using Dapper Denim ink.

The DSP was matted on to So Saffron card stock and adhered in the centre of the card.

The sentiment is from the Watercolor Words set and stamped in Pacific Point. Again, this was matted on to So Saffron card stock. This was adhered at an angle using dimensionals.

A couple of balloons were punched from Tempting Turquoise card stock and added some clear Wink of Stella.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

The ink colours I have used are Lemon Lime Twist and Emerald Envy. I have only used the smaller stamp from the set. The little berries were stamped in Fresh Fig ink.

The sentiment was taken from the Oh What Fun set, and stamped with Memento Black ink.

The image was cut with the Starburst punch and adhered to a 2-1/4 inch punched circle cut from Fresh Fig card stock. This was mounted on to a 2-3/4 inch square using dimensionals.

The card base was stamped with the splatter image from Touches of Texture using Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist ink.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #006

Good Morning,

The Inspire.Create.Challenge this time is a theme challenge. You can see what the Design Team made here

This is my design. The centre is folded and made in to an aperture.

To make this card, I cut two pieces of Whisper White card stock 8-1/4 by 5-7/8 inches and scored at 4-1/8.

One piece was also scored at 2-1/16 from both edges. This is folded in to a concertina.

A Layering Circle die was placed over the centre fold to create the aperture.

I made a spinner feature for the aperture by cutting smaller circles. These were decorated with Birthday Memories DSP and a sentiment from Merry Little Labels.

Some silver thread was sandwiched between the layers and secured to the back of the aperture.

The concertina section was positioned inside the card with Fast Fuse.

The front and inside panels were decorated with Bermuda Bay card and Birthday Memories DSP.

The topper on the front uses a sentiment from the Window Shopping stamp set cut with a Layering Square die.

I hope you enjoyed this project.
