Embossed Rose Gold Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

Did you spot this gorgeous speciality Designer Series Paper?

Each sheet has a beautiful brushed texture to it. I thought I’d add some extra texture with the Pretty Floral embossing folder.

I took the opportunity to use the Delicate Petals set once more too. The flowers were coloured very simply to coordinate with the card base.

You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial….

I used a different layout for my original sample as another option.

This piece was embossed with the Stitched Greenery die. Look out for more projects with this in the future!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Something Different with Butterfly Brilliance

Hello Everyone,

I’m trying something new today with the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set.

After a team meeting, I remembered a technique from many years ago where pigment powder was brushed over versamark ink, so I thought I would give it a go with the new Soft Pastels.

There are 8 colours in the pack;

  • Poppy Parade
  • Mango Melody
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Granny Apple Green
  • Mossy Meadow
  • Coastal Cabana
  • Night of Navy
  • Gorgeous Grape

See how I made this card in my video tutorial….

You can achieve different looks by adding more of the Soft Pastel!

The bold black sentiments add impact to the card design and are emphasized by the black border created with the layering.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Another Colour Challenge with the Lots of Heart Bundle

Hello Everyone,

I couldn’t resist this colour challenge…. Any excuse to use my favourite colour!

  • Bermuda Bay
  • Crumb Cake
  • Sahara Sand
  • Basic Black

I pulled out the Lots of Heart stamp set and coordinating dies to make my card.

This stamp set is retiring at the end of the month and currently still available at half price!

You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial…

Mixing up the colours worked well too. You might even stretch to give this card to a guy … Perhaps exchanging the Bermuda Bay for Night of Navy or Misty Moonlight

I love the pop of colour with this arrangement. I think this would work with a variety of colours.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Simple Friendship Card with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder

Hello Everyone,

I’m doing something really simple today.

In the same way Designer Series Paper can make a card front, so too can embossing folders.

Today I have embossed Very Vanilla card stock. For a different look, you can use coloured card stock or designer series paper!

The texture created with these folders is incredible to see.

I have emphasized the detail by applying some ink over the top with a blending brush.

You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial….

All that is needed is a sentiment. For this card I used dies as I had the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine out. You could equally use punches.

Some coordinating ribbon completes the card. You can also colour ribbon with Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers or even Stampin’ ink pads!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Simple Masking Technique with the Springtime Joy stamp set

Hello Everyone,

Masking is a useful but simple technique to achieve a different look with yours stamps without adding additional layers.

The front most image is stamped first and then covered with a paper mask. Cutting the mask from sticky note paper means it stays in place while the other images are stamped over the top.

You can see how to do this in my video tutorial….

Of course I had to get my Stampin’ Blends out to colour these little guys!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

One Card, Three Ways with the Art in Bloom Bundle

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited about this new product from Stampin’ Up!

The Art in Bloom bundle includes a stamp set, dies and a hybrid embossing folder!

The products can be used independently or in combination to make simple effective cards.

1. Simple stamping – use the stamps alone and colour them with your favourite medium or the two-step elements in the stamp set! I used Stampin’ Blends for my card.

2. Just emboss – use your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss to emboss your card stock. I’ve used Basic White and added colour with Blending Brushes. Why not try other card stock colours?

The ink picks out the embossed details.

3. Stamp, cut & emboss – easily line up your stamped images with the die and embossing folder. The die sits inside the folder which is specifically designed so that it is not damaged in the process – it’s so clever!

(Do not try this with your other embossing folders)

I raised the die cut pieces up on to dimensionals.

You can see how I made these cards in my video tutorial….

This shows just 3 options, but there are so many other combinations to try!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Monday Colour Challenge with Delicate Petals

Hello Everyone,

For this week’s Monday Colour Challenge I am working with;

  • Merry Merlot
  • Mint Macaron
  • Pacific Point

The Delicate Petals was on my desk to use again before it retires. I haven’t seen many samples using this set online either, which is such a pity. I think it is a lovely set.

I have layered the pieces together to create a dimensional floral embellishment .

The Double Oval punch was perfectly sized to cut the sentiment.

You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial….

The background stamp is easy to line up as it is photopolymer. I love how this lines up to create a full circle.

Which is your favourite?

I hope you enjoyed this project.
