Sending Love #FMS344

Hi Everyone,

It’s Friday! And time for another sketch challenge!

As usual the design team have come up with some fabulous inspiration. See all their projects here!

And this is my project.

I have used Garden Impressions designer series paper to decorate the corners of a white card base.

The card front was then embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

The Floral Frames stamp set was used to stamp the greeting and flowers with Night of Navy and Crushed Curry ink.

The Tailored Tag was used to add banner ends to the sentiment. This was adhered to a Melon Mambo Everyday Label. Some Rose metallic thread was looped behind the label before adding to the card with dimensionals.

Wink of Stella clear glitter was added over the flowers which were added using snail and dimensional adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Nature’s Hello #GDP144

Hi there,

This week’s Wednesday challenge from the Global Design Team is to “case the designer”. Charley has made this great card… What would you make?

The rest of the design team have made some fantastic samples which you can see here!

This is my design, combining Rooted in Nature, Wood Textures and Accented Blooms.

2-1/2 inch strips of Wood Textures and Nature’s Poem designer series papers were adhered to a Whisper White card base.

The Pearl Doily was substituted for the large tree ring image from Rooted in Nature. This was fussy cut and added to the card with dimensionals.

A scrap of Whisper White card stock was stamped with the gorgeous tree using Tranquil Tide ink. The corners were rounded with the Detailed Trio punch.

The Tailored Tag punch was used to cut the sentiment which was stamped with Crumb Cake ink.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

My little cabin is hidden away in the woods!

The images have been stamped on to a 2-1/2 inch strip of Whisper White card stock.

The house was stamped with Miky Slate, Calypso Coral and Pool Party inks.

Additional tree canopies were stamped and cut out separately to add extra dimension.

The sentiment was added with Smoky Slate ink. The corners of the panel were rounded with the Detailed Trio punch.

A strip of Pool Party DSP was adhered to the left hand side of a Smoky Slate card base. The stamped panel was then positioned over the top using dimensionals.

Floral Frame Just Add Ink #414

Good Morning Everyone,

I am playing along with the Just Add Ink challenging today.

The design team have provided lots of inspiration, you can see their work here!

I have used floral die cuts to make a frame.

The floral die is from the Abstract Impressions bundle. I used this to die cut Whisper White card stock which had been coloured with sponge daubers.

A 2-1/4 inch circle was punched from some vellum. The sentiment was stamped on this with Gray Granite ink. This was heat embossed with clear powder.

A 2 inch punch was used to cut an aperture in a Whisper White card layer. The vellum circle was then added over the top with a tiny amount of multipurpose glue.

This panel was adhered to a piece of Soft Seam Foam card stock also with an aperture.

Dimensionals were used to add this panel to a Very Vanilla card base.

The floral die cuts were added around the edge of the vellum circle using multipurpose glue.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Happy News

Hello Everyone,

I couldn’t resist using this butterfly from the Abstract Impressions bundle any longer.

I have used Whisper White card stock for the base. Some Garden Impressions designer series paper was added to some Powder Pink card stock and then adhered to the base.

The butterfly was cut twice, once in Soft Sea Foam card stock and again from vellum. The two were adhered together. Some Mint Macaron faceted dots were added to the body.

Some Rose metallic thread was looped on to the card, the butterfly was then added over the top with dimensionals.

A sentiment from the stamp set was stamped with Soft Sea Foam ink. I used one of the flower stamps and So Saffron ink to add some interest. This was then cut using the Tailored Tag Punch and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to my 24/7 online store below.

Special Day

Good Morning!

Today I am trying out a new colour combination; Merry Merlot, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.

have used the Stitched All Around bundle.

First of all, the card base was stamped with stitching image. The hinge step technique of the Stamparatus allowed for perfect placement.

The sentiment was stamped with Merry Merlot ink, die cut and adhered to the card.

The circle and heart elements were cut from Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo card stock respectively.

Some yellow artisan pearls were added to pull the colours together on the card.

Amazing Bokeh

Good Morning Everyone,

Sometimes I have absolutely no idea what I am going to make…. This project was one of those, but I am really pleased with the result.

This stamp set immediately caught my eye in the new annual catalogue so I started with the stamp. After trying a few ink colours, I tried heat embossing the image.

I then decided to use the emboss resist technique to bring out the detail. The colours I picked out were Balmy Blue, Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam. The ink was applied with sponge daubers.

For added interest, I lightly spritzed the card with water, dabbed off the excess and dried with a heat tool.

The panel was adhered to some Basic Gray card stock and then added to a Soft Sea Foam card base.

Rather than stamping a sentiment, I used the Celebrate You thinlits. These were cut from Basic Black and Basic Gray card stock. For some dimension, “you” was cut three times and glued together.

Finally, some pearl white adhesive sequins were added to the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

Fill my Cup

Good Morning!

Today’s project uses the Time for Tea stamp set and Tea Room designer series paper.

The card base is Coastal Cabana.

A coordinating piece of DSP was layered on to some Crushed Curry card stock.

The sentiment was stamped with Memento ink at the too of a strip of Whisper White card stock. This was adhered with dimensionals.

The tea cup was stamped and lightly coloured using a Bermuda Bay water colour pencil. Some Wink of Stella added some sparkle. I used one of the coordinating dies to cut out the image. For some added interest, the little leaves were also added and coloured with water colour pencil before adhering to the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

Make Me Proud

Hello Everyone,

My absolute favourite colour from the new release has got to be Blackberry Bliss – just love it!

So today’s project is made entirely in this colour – well except the Whisper White to stamp on.

I randomly stamped the leaves using first, second and third generation ink.

Some Nature’s Twine was wrapped around this panel which was then adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped and trimmed down to size. The corners were rounded with the Detailed Trio punch.

A tree from the Rooted in Nature stamp set was die cut and added to the card.

To finish the card, I added some faceted dots.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

Love & Thanks #GDP142

Good Morning,

The Global Design Project has a sketch challenge this week.

You can see the samples made by the design team here!

I have used Tropical Escapes suite to make my card for the challenge.

I picked out some Designer Series paper which was cut at an angle. I didn’t measure it, just what looked appealing. This was adhered to a white card base.

The opposite side was punched with a 2 inch circle punch and added with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink.

Two leaves were stamped with first and second generation ink and die cut. These were positioned under the sentiment and secured with snail adhesive.

A double bow was tied from silver Baker’s twine and added with a glue dot. Some Mint Macaron faceted dots finished the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Dream

Hello Everyone,

I love this new stamp set and couldn’t wait to make my own dream catcher!

To make the dream catcher I started by stamping the base image with Gray Granite ink and die cutting.

The additional catcher elements and larger feathers were die cut from white card stock. Mint Macaron ink was sponged over these before layering them together with multipurpose glue.

The small feathers were stamped with Balmy Blue ink. These were also die cut and adhered to the centre of the dream catcher.

Finally, the word dream was die cut from Basic Gray card stock. Wink of Stella clear glitter was added over the top and then adhered to the card with multipurpose glue.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

The Greatest – Just Add Ink #412

Good Morning,

As ever on a Monday, I am taking part in a challenge. Today it it stage Just Add Ink challenge.

Which two would you choose? The design team have made some great projects as inspiration which you see here.

I went through my stash for all things spotty! I found this designer series paper from the Tropical Escapes collection. I then designed the rest of my card around this.

I made the card base from Blushing Bride card stock.

Soft Seafoam card stock was cut to 3-3/4 by 5 inches. This was used as a mat for the patterned paper.

Some polka dot tulle ribbon was tied around the panel and then adhered to the card base.

For the feature piece I used the coordinating Tropical Chic stamp set and dies.

Several leaves were stamped with first, second and third generation Shaded Spruce ink. These were die cut ready to use.

A square of Soft Seafoam card stock was stamped with the speckles from the Timeless Textures set using Shaded Spruce ink. This was adhered to the card with dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Tropical Chic set was stamped on to white card stock and also added with dimensionals.

The leaves were then arranged on the card and adhered in place with multipurpose glue.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Detailed with Love

Good Morning,

I have created my very own background for today’s card. Ordinarily, this would have been very challenging but using the Stamparatus made it so much easier.

I would recommended practising first.

To begin, the stamp was placed on the left hand edge of the white card stock.

The stamp was picked up on the door of the Stamparatus, inked up with Lovely Lipstick ink and stamped on to the card.

Using the hinge step technique, the stamp was repeated along the card.

The stamp was repositioned to create the next row, and so on until the card was covered.

Some metallic edge ribbon was attached below centre before adhering to a Lovely Lipstick card base.

The feature stamp was inked with Lovely Lipstick and stamped on to Whisper White card stock. This was die cut using the Layering Ovals framelits. These were also used to cut a scalloped layer too.

Once assembled, this was was attached to the card with dimensionals.

A small bow was added to the ribbon to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

Big Time

Good Morning Everybody,

I fancied doing some colouring so I pulled out this Animal Outing stamp set.

As I was using Stampin’ Blends to colour, I stamped the images with Memento ink on to a 3-1/2 square of Whisper White card stock.

The rhino was coloured with Smoky Slate and Ivory;

The frog is Rich Razzleberry;

The bird is Pool Party and Bermuda Bay;

Old Olive and Bronze were used for the branch.

The card base was made from Call Me Clover card stock which was cut to 8 by 4 inches, scored at 4 inches.

A 2 inch strip of In Colour DSP was added to the right hand side of the card, then embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textures embossing folder.

Layering Squares framelits were used to make a small frame of card stock which was adhered at an angle with mini dimensionals. Some Wink of Stella glitter pen added some sparkle.

The stamped panel adhered over the top of this.

The cute sentiment was stamped with Call Me Clover ink and cut with a 1-1/4 inch circle punch. This was added to a 1-3/8 scallop circle cut from the same DSP.

Textures of the Sea #FMS339

Hello Everyone,

This week’s sketch challenge has been set by Jen Brum.

The design team have made some great projects as inspiration; you can see them all on the Freshly Made Sketches blog, here!

This is my entry for the challenge;

I really wanted to use Sea of Textures on this card. I thought the shape could be a coral reef on the sea bed.

I picked out some paper from the coordinating designer series paper collection. The paper was cut diagonally, one piece was flipped over to create the “V” shape.

Before adhering to the card, I stamped the tall sea weed across the background with Tranquil Tide ink.

The papers were added to the card, leaving space for other pieces to be positioned behind them.

Other seaweed and coral elements were die cut from Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig. These were tucked in place.

Finally, the octopus was stamped with Night of Navy ink, die cut and adhered with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Getting There

Hello Everyone,

The project for today uses the new Lilypad Lake bundle.

I like to use the “small stamps” to make cards as they can get overlooked.

This card features the little sail boats, I thought the sentiment was just right.

I have used Whisper White card stock to stamp on measuring 3-3/4 by 5-1/4 inches.

A combination of Coastal Cabana and Balmy Blue ink was used to stamp the water. First, second and third generation stamping added depth and texture.

The sentiment was stamped so the first half lay on the horizon, with the second part off set to the right.

The boats were stamped with Poppy Parade and Gorgeous Grape inks. A blender pen was used to move the ink slightly to add a hint of colour to the sails.

These were die cut and adhered to the card, using a combination of snail and dimensionals.

The panel was added to Tranquil Tide card stock and then on to a Very Vanilla card base.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below. They will be available to purchase from 1st June.

If you don’t have a copy of the new catalogue, please contact me and I will send one out to you free of charge!

Thinking of You #GDP140

Good Morning Everyone!

This week the Global Design Project team are casing this wonderful card from Brian King.

You can see all their cards here!

This is my interpretation using the new Rooted in Nature bundle.

A piece of Whisper White card stock was cut to 3 by 4-3/4 inches.

The bottom portion was stamped with leaves using second generation Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron inks.

The sentiment was added over top with black ink.

The Rooted in Nature dies include some elements that will emboss rather the cut. The coordinating stamped leaves were embossed with the Big Shot.

The panel was adhered to some Soft Suede card stock. This was then added to a Tranquil Tide card base using dimensionals.

The beautiful tree as stamped twice with Blackberry Bliss ink and die cut. The lighter image was adhered flat, the other was raised using mini dimensionals.

As a final touch, some Grapefruit Grove twine was added to the tree trunk.

Mini Tag Album

Hi Everyone,

This cute little project I have cased from the lovely Liz Yuille at Old Stables Crafts. You can see Liz’s version of this project here!

Start with a 12 by 12 sheet of designer series paper. I chose a sheet from the Eastern Palace collection.

I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score the paper, but you could equally use the Simply Scored and some scissors.

Score the paper at 3, 6 and 9 inches.

Turn the paper and score at 2 and 10 inches.

Keeping the paper in this orientation, score at the 6 inch mark down to the first score line, (3 inches). Without moving the paper, cut up to the same score line, (9inches).

To form the book shape, fold in the 2 inch portions. Secure the ends with a little wet glue.

Fold along the short centre score line so that the 2 inch section is visible. Concertina fold along the remaining score lines.

There will be some “loose pages” that can be secured with some double sided tape.

To make the cover, I cut some Dapper Denim card stock to 4-1/8 by 6-1/2 inches. The long side was scored at 3-1/8 inches from both ends to create the “spine”.

Some grosgrain ribbon was adhered to the inside of the cover before securing the pages.

The front was decorated with more patterned paper and Eastern Medallion die cuts.

The tags were made by cutting 2 inch strips of card stock with the Tag Topper punch. These were threaded with Lemon Lime Twist mini striped ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.
