Hello Everyone,

Here’s another card made using inspiration from our recent craft retreat and colour challenge chucked in too!

I’ve used a bunch of punches for dimension and texture!

You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial….

Some Wink of Stella and rhinestones in the flower centres add some glitz!

This is the card we made with Kaye over the weekend! It was so much fun!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #085

Hello Everyone,

Today I am delighted and honoured to be sharing my first project as an Inspire.Create challenge. Design Team member!

This time it’s a 3D theme challenge. The rest of the design team have made some wonderful samples as inspiration. You can see them here.

Why not give it a go? We’d love to see your 3D creations!

3D projects aren’t my forté… I hope you enjoy my effort with this mini album. I learned to make these many years ago. They make lovely gifts!

I made my samples with the Paper Blooms Sale-a-bration designer series paper pack. I just love the colour palette in this collection!

Each “page” uses a 6 by 6 piece of paper so you can get 4 out of each 12 by 12 sheet. This project requires 6 pages.

To make each square;

  • Fold in half and reopen, bring each side to the middle fold to create 4 sections
  • Turn 90 degrees and repeat. You should have 16 squares, measuring 1-1/2 inches, in your paper
  • I like to use a scoreboard to create these first set of squares, (score at 1-1/2, 3 and 4-1/2 inches)
  • Fold each corner to the centre point, crease and reopen
  • Turn in each corner to the first 1-1/2 inch intersection, then fold in to the centre

  • Turn over the folded paper
  • Fold each corner the the centre point and reopen
  • Turn it back over
  • On three sides, lift and fold back on itself – this is called a squash fold

  • Insert a square of cardstock that measures just under 3 inches.
  • Use the exposed points to join the pages together with wet glue

To make the cover;

  • Cut a piece of cardstock 7 by 3-1/4 inches
  • Score on the long side at 3-1/5 and 3-3/4 inches
  • Cut a layer in coordinating cardstock 3-1/8 square, and designer series paper 3 inches square
  • Round the corners and adhere the pieces to the front cover
  • Add ribbon across the inside of the cover
  • Add white cardstock to the inside back cover, over the ribbon
  • Decorate the front using the Double Oval, Small Bloom and Sprig Punches!

Adhere the pages to the inside front cover of the album. If preferred, the back page can also be adhered in place.

Tags and other embellishments can be added to the inside.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

I have created 2 videos showing the page folding and making the cover.

Daisy Tags

Hello Everyone,

Here’s something different from me today….. For this project I used three fabulous punches.

It took no time at all to make the base of these tags. The rest of the design could be any colour, any sentiment.

For the coloured card, I cut 2 by 4-3/4 inch strips.

I punched the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.

For the bottom, I used the Detailed Trio Punch. This combines the rounder and the detail designs of the punch, (each corner needed to be punched twice).

The white portions measured 2 by 4 inches. The same punch was used for the top.

The Triple Banner Punch was used for the bottom.

For the stamping, I used second generation ink in matching colours, to add the daisies. Sahara Sand was used for the centres.

The sentiment was taken from the Well Said set and heat embossed in gold.

The two pieces were adhered together with snail. The top was ever so slightly off set to reveal some of the base colour.

The tags were finished with Polka Dot Tulle ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

I would love to be your demonstrator.

Inspire.Create #028

Hello Everyone,

There’s a new Inspire.Create challenge going on right now…. Look at these colours!

As always the design team have pulled out all the stops with their samples. You can see them here.

For my design, I wanted to use a stamp set with lots of complementary elements. I ended up choosing Swirly Bird.

The card itself was really easy to put together. First, I decided which stamps I would pair with each colour, (except Lovely Lipstick). I then built up the design, keeping in mind the “rule of threes”.

The corners were punched with the Detailed Trio Punch and adhered to a Lovely Lipstick card base.

I also used Lovely Lipstick card stock to die cut the word ‘love’ which I adhered to a Vellum circle.

The additional sentiments were stamped on to strips of white card stock. These were also added to the Vellum, this time with dimensionals.

The vellum was then adhered to the card with dimensionals, hiding them behind the other elements.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Nature’s Hello #GDP144

Hi there,

This week’s Wednesday challenge from the Global Design Team is to “case the designer”. Charley has made this great card… What would you make?

The rest of the design team have made some fantastic samples which you can see here!

This is my design, combining Rooted in Nature, Wood Textures and Accented Blooms.

2-1/2 inch strips of Wood Textures and Nature’s Poem designer series papers were adhered to a Whisper White card base.

The Pearl Doily was substituted for the large tree ring image from Rooted in Nature. This was fussy cut and added to the card with dimensionals.

A scrap of Whisper White card stock was stamped with the gorgeous tree using Tranquil Tide ink. The corners were rounded with the Detailed Trio punch.

The Tailored Tag punch was used to cut the sentiment which was stamped with Crumb Cake ink.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Make Me Proud

Hello Everyone,

My absolute favourite colour from the new release has got to be Blackberry Bliss – just love it!

So today’s project is made entirely in this colour – well except the Whisper White to stamp on.

I randomly stamped the leaves using first, second and third generation ink.

Some Nature’s Twine was wrapped around this panel which was then adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped and trimmed down to size. The corners were rounded with the Detailed Trio punch.

A tree from the Rooted in Nature stamp set was die cut and added to the card.

To finish the card, I added some faceted dots.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

Inspire.Create #019

Hi there,

Today’s post is my entry in the Inspire.Create. Challenge.

The theme is the new Stampin’ Up! In Colours.

You can see what the design team have created by clicking here!

I have kept the design simple teaming these bright colours with neutrals.

I have used Touches of Texture and All Things Thanks stamp sets.

I started with Pineapple Punch to stamp the splatter image in the background.

The flower was inked with Grapefruit Grove and adding some Lovely Lipstick to the centre and edges with a sponge dauber.

I added the stem using Call Me Clover ink.

Blueberry Bushel ink was used to stamp the sentiment.

The Detailed Trio punch was used to round the corners of the card stock.

Some Polka Dot Tulle ribbon was tied around the bottom before adhering to a Grey Granite card base.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies are listed below.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stampin’!
