Sparkles

Hi there crafters,

There is something magical about heat embossing…using clear powder gives a great tone on tone tone look.

I have used the Love Sparkles stamp set.

The card stock was prepared with an embossing buddy. This prevents excess powder sticking where it isn’t wanted.

The star image was then stamped with clear versamark embossing ink. Add the embossing powder and tip off the excess. Heat the powder until it melts and turns glossy.

The sentiment was embossed in gold and then die cut with a Stitched Shape framelit.

The card was finished with some ribbon and rhinestones.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Thanks for stopping by.

Triple Candle Box

Hello again Everyone!

It’s my final week as a Pootler’s design team member…. This has been so much fun. So I am ending with a 3D project. I am very pleased with this.

6 months ago I couldn’t make boxes for toffee…but practice makes perfect.

For the base, cut some Whisper White to 6 1/2 by 11 inches. Stamp the leaf in Cucumber Crush ink. Then score all 4 sides at 2 1/4. burnish and notch out tabs as below:

For the insert, also in Whisper White, cut to 8 by 3 1/2 and score at 3/4 inch. Die cut 3 holes. Start with the end 2 and then it is easier to centre the middle one. Burnish and notch out:

For the lid, cut some Cucumber Crush card to 11 1/2 by 7 inches. Stamp the leaf as before. Score at 1 1/4 and 2 1/2. The lid will be reinforced for added strength:

To add a little something, I wrappex some ribbon around the lid, secured discreetly with some fast fuse.

I love it… Hope you do too!

Scrap Patchwork

Good Morning,

Using up scraps of paper can be challenging. I got this idea from fellow demonstrator Dena Rekow in the US. Whilst her design uses strips, I have used squares to create a patchwork.

All the squares are 2 by 2 inches and simply adhered to the card base.

I added some “stitching” with a fine pen.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla card stock.

The supplies used in this project are listed and linked below.

Some products are currently on the retiring list, shop now to avoid disappointment.

Doily Delights

Hi there,

Today’s projects were created to use up these beautiful doilies which, sadly, will not be carried in to the new catalogue in June.

All the cards are constructed in the same way with some variation on the theme.

The idea of making a background had been in my mind for a while.  The first card is made with black card and the vanilla side of the doily.

A sentiment was added to the card. This was heat embossed in white.

Here, I have used Perfect Plum and white doilies arranged slightly differently. The sentiment was added with Elegant Eggplant card, also heat embossed.

This came next, using Night of Navy card.

Finally, this was made with Delightful Dijon.

I hope you like these projects.

Umbrellas

Good Morning,

Let’s hope we won’t be needing these for too much longer….but this is such a cute card.

The umbrellas were stamped with Smokey Slate, Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder then die cut with the matching framelits. These shapes could be cut out by hand very easily too.

They are added to the card using tape and dimensionals for a layered effect.

The rain drops were added using Pool Party and Soft Sky ink.

The sentiment was also stamped in Night of Navy ink and cut in to a banner and added across the middle of the card.

I hope you like this project and give this a go.

Spring Leaves

Hello Crafters,

A really quick and simple project for today.

This card took minutes to make but still looks beautiful.

Using Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green snd Wild Wasabe, I simply stamped the same leaf image roughly evenly spaced.

I added a greeting stamped with Early Espresso ink and cut in to a fish tail banner and added some pearls.

Blessed

Hi Everyone,

Today’ s projects use the Paisleys and Posies Suite of products. The designer paper is retiring, however, the stamps and dies will be carrying over into the new catalogue…. but will not be available as a bundle.

The base is made in Mint Macaron card stock cut to 8 1/4 inches square. Score at 2 3/4 on all four sides. Burnish the creases and cut tabs as shown below. Fold into a box shape.

The lid was made with designer paper measuring 7 1/2 inches square scored on all four sides at 2 1/2 inches.

The top is decorated with a number of stacked circles and a Lace Doily. I also added a tag made frim Very Vanilla card and tied with copper metallic thread.

l also made a couple of cards while I had the set out. Both are standard A6 in size.

For the first card, I made a base layer of Mint Macaron measuring 4 by 5 3/4 inches. I then cut some designer paper to 3 3/4 by 4 1/4 inches, which I then cut at an angle. These pieces layered on to the Mint Macaron layer to make a “valley”.

For the greeting. I stamped in Emerald Envy ink and cut the strip to fit the space I had created. I adhered this with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The decoration uses elements from the stamp set stamped in Emerald Envy on Very Vanilla card stock, which I then die cut. These were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished with a rhinestone.

The centre piece of this card looks beautiful. The sentiment was stamped in Emerald Envy and cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits.

I then cut 6 of the decorative elements using the framelits collection from Emerald Envy card stock. These were adhered with Tombow to the reverse of the Stitched Circle.

This was finished with some tiny pearls.

I hope you have enjoyed these projects.

Louise’s Box

Hey there crafty friends,

I made this for my friend Louise. I love exploding boxes and designed this one to fit some smelly stuff.

I started with the base section that will hold the bottle in place. I wanted it deep enough so it would not fall over or wobble too much inside the finished box.

I selected a die from Layering Circles that would fit around the bottle, and then judged the depth required.

From these estimates I decided to cut some Crumb Cake card to 8 1/4 inch square, scored at 1 and 2 3/4 inches. I cut the circle from the centre before constructing.

Form the box as usual. The base will be partially open, that is the flaps won’t meet. A square of card placed inside before sealing the box covers this up and makes the inside look neater.

For the side panels I cut Crumb Cake card to 9 1/2 by 2 3/4 and scored at 2 3/4. Make 4 of these. Decorate with DSP measuring 5 3/4 by 2 inches, which was layered on to card stock, 6 by 2 1/2 inches. I used Affectionately Yours and Tip Top Taupe.

The lid was made from Crumb Cake card measuring 6 3/4 inches square, scored at 2 inches. Decorated as above. DSP cut to 2 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches, (4 pieces) and 2 1/2 inch square for the top. Card layers cut to 2 5/8 by 1 3/4 inches, (4 pieces) and 2 5/8 inch square for the top.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Dijon Grunge

wp-1490294518222.jpgwp-1490562794387.jpg

Welcome to my Pootler’s Design Team project numbeeeer ….3!

On this card, I wanted to keep some of the white space, but add interest without bulk. So the ever faithful Gorgeous Grunge set was deployed. It doesn’t seem to matter what colours you use…it always looks awesome.

The flowers were stamped on to Delightful Dijon card stock using Early Espresso ink and then fussy cut. For added dimension I also stamped and cut out the centre part separately to create a layered flower. The petals were shaped using an embossing tool and a foam mat.

The sentiment from That’s the Tag, was stamped using Soft Suede ink, punched out using the Classic Label and added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This was very easy to put together, I hope you give it a go!

Join me again next week for the final project in this design team series.

Boxes and Bags

Hi there,

Ready for more things to make with your pack of designer paper?

These 2 boxes use 6 by 3 pieces of paper to make the lid.

Score paper at 3/4 inches, cut and fold into the box shape. The bases are made with plain black and white card stock cut to 8 3/8 by 5 3/8 and score at 2 inches. I have added some ribbon to decorate.

This “pizza box” uses the foiled paper in the pack. Cut to 12 by 4 inches. Score the long side at 1 1/2, 5 1/4, 6 3/4 and 10 1/2 inches. Score the short side at 1 1/2, 7 1/2 and 9 inches. Cut and notch out flaps as below:

The centre flaps are used to form the base. Some ribbon finishes this off beautifully.

I also wanted to make a “drawer style” box.

For the wrap, cut the paper to 7 by 4 inches, score at 1 3/4 inch intervals. The base is made from plain white card stock cut to 7 3/8 by 5 1/8, scored at 1 3/4.

Now for something bigger.

For the lid you will need an 8 by 8 piece of paper and score at 2 inches. Cut the base slightly smaller (7 7/8 square).

Need a traditional box?

This is a large box, finished size 6 by 3 1/2 by 1 1/2.

Start with a 12 by 9 1/2 piece of card.

On the long side score at 1 1/2, 5 1/4, 6 3/4 and 10 1/2 inches.

On the short side score at 1 1/2, 7 1/2  and 9 inches.

Cut away pieces as shown below.

Again this is finished off with Suite Sayings and the Stitched Shape framelits.
Gift bags are really easy to make too. In the photos below, the same size paper, 6 by 12, was used, but scored differently.

The first example is wider across the front but not very deep.

Score the long side, score at 1, 5 1/4, 6 1/4, 10 1/2 inches, then trim off 3/4 inch. On the short side, score at 1 inch.

For a narrower but deeper bag, score the long side at 2, 5 3/4, 7 3/4 and 11 1/2 inches.score the short side at 2 inches.

The tags were made from the scrap left over from the traditional box, 12 by 2 1/2. I cut the strip in to 2 inch sections then used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.

Finally, punch some holes for some ribbon and tie in to a bow.

I was left wuth one sheet of paper, so I made one last large bag.

This is just over 9 inches tall, 2 7/8 inch deep and wide.

Score at 2 7/8, 5 3/4, 8 5/8 and 11 1/2. Rotate and score at 2 7/8.

So that’s it. All the paper has been used up, and I have lots of fantastic items.

I hope this has demonstrated just how far your products can stretch, offering great value for money.

Envelopes and Treat Wraps

Good Morning!

Yesterday I showed making card fronts from your designer paper. Today I am making envelopes and treat wraps. These projects are not unique, I have taken inspiration from many sources.

For the envelopes, I have used the fantastic envelope punch board tool.

I have made 5 of each size, using alternate sides of the designs.

The larger size uses 6 by 6 inch paper. Punch and score at 2 5/8. This will fit a 3 by 4 inch card.

The smaller size uses 5 by 5 inch paper. Punch and score at 2 3/8. This will fit a 3 by 2 1/2 inch card, or a gift card.

There are many different sizes of envelope that can be created with this tool…but it is also possible to create boxes and other projects. A box example can be viewed in the archive, in the Malteser treat box post.

Here are some other treat wrap ideas.

“Sour cream” containers are very easy to make. Both of these styles were made with 6 by 3 inch pieces of paper.

Start by adding some strong adhesive tape to 3 sides of the paper. Here the short side has been skipped. This creates the short fat container. If the long side was skipped, the result is the long skinny container… The choice is yours.

Remove the tape backing from the side opposite the skipped side only. Wrap the paper in to a tube.

Next remove backing from one end od the tube and press together and add your goodies! I had chocolate eggs lying around.

Close the open end in the opposing direction to finish the container. Of course these could be decorated with a tag or ribbon if desired.

Using 6 by 2 scraps I made these wraps.

By punching both ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, it was easy to thread ribbon through to make these. I added a sentiment from Suite Sayings.

I was able to fit all sorts of things inside them.

I hope this has been helpful. Tomorrow I will be showing boxes and gift bags.

As always supplies listed and linked below. Please note: some items are retiring and may already be sold out. You can see the retiring products here.

How Many Cards?

Hello again,

Now is the time to use up retiring designer paper, but what can you make? Using a single pack of 12 by 12 paper and matching washi tape…. I am using Pop of Pink, black and white card stock, a stamp set, a black ink pad, a set of framelits, ribbon and gems there is plenty to create.

Today it is cards. These are all A6 in size.

Cut paper panels to 4 by 5 3/4. There a 6 double sided patterns, to make 12 different card fronts.

The sentiments all come from Suite Sayings and were stamped in black ink. All were cut out using an appropriate Stitched Shape framelit.

Add some bling and these are finished. Super quick and easy.

This method applied to all the designer paper would create 36 cards! But I will show some other things to make tomorrow.

Supplies used are listed and linked below. Please note: Designer paper is retiring and may no longer be available.

Happy Easter

Hi there,

I made 20 of these little treat boxes for my fellow “Pootlers” …..my Stampin’Up! team led by Pootles herself, Sam Hammond. This was a small token of my appreciation of the support offered to me since joining SU.

This box measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1.

For the base: cut Crumb cake card stock to 6 1/2 inch square. Score at 1 and 2 inches.

For the lid: cut DSP to 4 1/2 inch square and score at 1/2 and 1 inch.

Supplies used are listed and linked below. (Please note: Some items are retiring from the catalogue and may already have sold out).

Welcome to my second Pootler’s Design Team project.

There is an AMAZING flourish stamp in this set. The tone on tone background stamping is both beautiful and impactful, with minimal fuss. Here, I have used Tip Top Taupe.

I have dressed this up with one our wonderful Lace Doilies. These a white on one side and vanilla on the other. Here the white side is showing to give more contrast against the Very Vanilla fish-tail banner.

The sentiment is from the Beautiful You stamp set, also stamped in Tip Top Taupe ink.

Happy Birthday Dad

Good Morning Crafters!

I have just spent an amazing 3 days in Amsterdam attending Stampin’ Up! On Stage LIVE event. It was FAB-U-LOUS. I had an anazing time, meeting other demonstrators from all over Europe.

Here I am with my fellow team members, (front right). My upline, Sam is in the centre. It was wonderful to get together with them all. Interested in joining? There is a link in the menu.

Best of all, as an attendee, I got to see the brand new catalogue that will be launching in June. Some great new products coming your way soon….watch this space!

Also stop by tomorrow, to get a look at the list of retiring products. These items will only be available while stocks last, so if you want/need something get in quick.

Now….todays project. Men’s cards are so difficult… But the neutrals DSP stack came to the rescue and I think it looks great.

This is built on a larger case base measuring 7 by 7 inches.

I cut some DSP to 6 3/4 inch square. Using Georgeous Grunge and versamark ink, I stamped around the edge. I then heat embossed this with gold powder. I layered this on to black card stock which measured 6 7/8 inches square and added to the card base.

The centre panel was cut from Whisper White and measured 5 inches square. Using the Large Letters stamp set, I stamped and embossed “DAD” towards the bottom of the panel. This was layered on to another piece of Basic Black card stock, 5 1/8 square. I wrapped some Black Metallic Thread around the panel then adhered this to the centre of the card with dimensionals.

I stamped and embossed the numbers from Number of Years on to some Whisper White. I die cut this with the Layering Circles framelits then stamped the “th” in Basic Black. A black scallop was also cut for layering.

On a seperate scrap of white card, I stamped “happy” and “birthday” and punched these out with the Classic Label punch. I snipped the end for a different look.

To finish, I adhered the circle flat to the centre panel and added the words with dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

XOXO

Hello Everyone,

A clean and simple card for you today.

This utilises some “scraps” from another project…  Five 3/4 inch circles.

On a white layer, I used Sweet Sugarplum ink and Timeless Textures to add interest behibd where I wanted to place the circles.

I stamped the large flower from the Bloomin’ Love set on to each circle with Sweet Sugarplum ink. These were added to the card as shown.

Finally, I added the XOXO greeting.

I hope you enjoyed this project and give it a go.

Hugs

Hi there Crafters,

Look at this little cutie. This card uses the Bear Hugs stamp and die bundle.

The little fella was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and die cut along with a Real Red heart. This was adhered to the bear with a dimensional.

A 3 by 3 inch piece of designer paper was adhered to the card base. A circle of Crumb Cake card stock was added to this. The bear then sat on top of this.

The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.

Too cute! I hope you enjoyed this project.
