Myths & Magic #FMS323

Good Morning,

Here’s another Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This week the sketch has been provided by Karren.

You can see what the design team made with this sketch here!

So the big decision was which of the amazing designer series papers to use! I went with Myths and Magic, for some fun and sparkle.

The DSP was trimmed to 1-1/2 by 4-3/4 inch strips. These were then cut at 1-1/4 inch.

The pieces were adhered to a piece of Smoky Slate card stock, measuring 3-1/4 by 5 inches.

An off cut of Smoky Slate card stock was trimmed to 3-3/4 inches and cut in to a banner.

The sentiment from the matching Magical Day stamp set was stamped with Bermuda Bay ink and due cut with the coordinating die.

The unicorn was coloured with Rich Razzleberry watercolour pencil and Wink of Stella.

These elements were added with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Dapper Day

Hi Everyone,

Something for the guys today featuring the Truly Tailored stamp set and True Gentleman DSP.

The paper is printed on Very Vanilla so this was used to make the card base and for stamping the sentiment.

The sentiment was stamped with Tranquil Tide ink and die cut using the Layering Ovals framelits and mounted on a strip of DSP. (This is the opposite side of the main design).

For some added dimension, an Early Espresso Starburst and a 2-1/4 inch circle of Crumb Cake card stock were also layered behind the sentiment with a few metallic enamel shapes scattered on the background.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online shop below.

Orchid Ring #GDP124

It’s Wednesday, so here is my Global Design Project entry for this week’s Case the Designer challenge.

You can see what the design team made here!

For my design, I have kept to a clean and simple layout.

I began with a ring to replace the floral wreath in the original sample. This was cut from Crumb Cake card stock using layering circles framelits. I opted for a scalloped edge.

The Climbing Orchid stamp set was used for my floral element. This was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink and fussy cut. Some leaves from the set were stamped in Wild Wasabi ink. These were attached to the ring with glue dots.

A small bow was tied from Crushed Curry mini chevron ribbon. This was also added with glue dots.

Mini dimensionals were used to adhere the ring to the card base.

The sentiment was stamped with Crushed Curry ink and trimmed this down to a small banner.

A few enamel shapes were added to break up the white background.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

I wanted to make them the feature on this card.

The white panel was adhered to some green DSP from the Tutti Frutti stack.

A red piece of DSP was added to a a white card base. The strawberry panel was then adhered to this with dimensionals.

Brusho Stencilling

Good Morning!

I thought I would do a little experiment with my stencils.

I wasn’t sure it would work. I thought maybe the water would seep under the stencil and ruin the pattern. But as you can see it worked a treat.

I taped down the stencil over some watercolour paper and spritzed clean water over the top.

With the stencil still in place, the Brusho powder was sprinkled over the design. I used all the colours!

I removed the stencil carefully. Some powder was resting on mostly dry paper, so I added a few extra fine sprays of water to seal all the powder in place.

The piece was allowed to dry completely and cut down to size and adhered to a black card base.

I picked out the Thanks sentiment from the You Move Me stamp set. This was heat embossed with white powder and adhered with dimensionals.

A few perfect white accents were added to finish the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below.

Honey Bear #GDP123

Hi All,

Wednesday means Global Design Project! It’s a theme challenge this week… New Beginnings! You can see what the design team created here!

It just so happens I have been asked to make a new baby card for a friend of mine.

I have used the beautiful A Little Wild stamp set.

The background was made with the Bundle of Love DSP.

Before adhering the layers, I die cut a circle to create an aperture. A piece of window sheet was sandwiched between the DSP and then added to the card base.

The little bear was stamped in Memento ink and coloured with Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blend markers.

The front of the bear was adhered to the card with dimensionals. The back was then added to the back with Fast Fuse.

The sentiment was stamped and cut with a 1 inch punch and layered on to a 1-1/8 inch scalloped circle.

I decided to add “congratulations” which I took from the Petal Palette stamp set. I cut this to a banner and adhered it under the little bear’s feet.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

One of a Kind

Hi there,

I have finally got round to colouring in this lovely mermaid from the Magical Day stamp set.

I have used my Stampin’ Blends. You may notice that I have blended Old Olive with Pool Party for a different look.

To make the card, I have added some turquoise glimmer paper to a Pool Party card base.

The design was built on to a vellum layer. First, some Lemon Lime Twist card was cut with a die from the Petal Passion suite.

The sentiment was stamped with Pacific Point ink for some contrast.

Adhesive was applied behind these elements to hide it from the front.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below.

A Stamp-a-ma-jig helped me to line up the stamp to create a circular design.

The word “amazing” was die cut from black card stock and positioned on the card.

“You”, “are simply” and “to me” were all stamped with Memento ink on to a strip of Whisper White card stock and cut down to size.

These pieces were adhered to the card with Fast Fuse.

To complete the card, I also added a few rhinestone embellishments.

Awesome Brusho

Good Morning,

I’ve been doing some “messy crafting” for today’s project.

On some watercolour paper, I stamped the headphones and sentiment from the Epic Celebration Sale-a-bration set using Archival ink.

Once the ink was completely dry, I spritzed some plain clear water over the top. Some Red and Blue Brusho crystals were sprinkled into the water.

The colour spreads an runs where the paper is wet.

The piece was then dried with a heat gun

Stampin’ Blends were used to colour the headphones for additional contrast.

Finally, some sparkle was added by flicking the pen nib.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below. Just click the pictures to be taken straight to the store.

Tutti Frutti Birthday #GDP122

It’s a sketch challenge at the Global Design Project this week.

See what the design team have created here!

I have made use of the Tutti Frutti suite of products for my entry.

I picked out this cute pineapple design from the designer paper stack. This influenced the colour scheme for the rest of the card design.

I have started with a Crumb Cake card base. A 2 by 4 inch strip of paper was adhered to this.

Half inch Strips of So Saffron, Soft Suede, Pool Party and Whisper White card stock.

Some Silver Baker’s Twine was added to the So Saffron piece.

img_20180123_215001_402_wm-658338066.jpg

The focal point uses the Everyday Label punch. The sentiment from the Fruit Basket stamp set was stamped on the Whisper White strip using Pool Party ink.

Three pineapples were stamped and punched to add as embellishments.

To finish of the card, and break up the empty space, some self adhesive sequins were added.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Hi Everyone,

Clean and Simple is the order of the day for this little project.

A 2 inch strip of Naturally Eclectic designer series paper was added to a white card base.

The coordinating dies were used to cut three gems from Soft Sky and Whisper White card stock. A coat of Wink of Stella made them sparkle too.

The sentiment from the set was stamped with Night of Navy ink and cut with a 1inch punch. This was layered on to Night of Navy scalloped circles, 1-1/8 and 1-3/8.

The elements were adhered to the card using either Fast Fuse or Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below.

Timeless Thank You

Good Morning,

I am revisiting some old Stampin’ favourites today.

Timeless Textures is a great set to break the crafting blues.

I don’t often use Very Vanilla, but I was going for a vintage look.

The splatters on the background were stamped with Sahara Sand for a soft texture. The flowers were then stamped over the top with Soft Suede ink.

Sahara Sand and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write markers were used to colour the image.

The sentiment Thank you was stamped with Old Olive ink and cut with the new 1-1/8 scallop punch. A 1-3/8 punch was used to cut some Old Olive card stock.

Some linen thread completed the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below.

Magical Day

Good Morning!

I have the great pleasure of joining my crafting friends in the first InspirINK blog hop for 2018.

There’s lots of inspiration to be found for our January theme… Sparkle, Shimmer and Shine!

I just had to use the Magical Day stamp set.

The focal point uses the wonderful unicorn which was stamped in black ink. The mane and tail were coloured with Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry watercolour pencils, a touch of Daffodil Delight coloured the horn and a hint if Basic Grey to shade the body. Clear Wink of Stella added some magical shimmer!

My sparkles came from some Glimmer paper which I cut with the Starburst punch. I adhered this to a vellum circle that I coloured with a Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blend marker.

I prepared a white card base and cut some silver foil to add some shine! To tie in the colour scheme, I also coloured this with the Stampin’ Blend marker.

The unicorn was added to a white card stock layer and adhered to the card base.

Two additional pieces of white card stock were cut with the cloud border die from the Sunshine and Rainbows bundle. These were adhered together with Fast Fuse.

The sentiment was stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink on to a strip of vellum. Because the ink doesn’t dry straight away, there is time to apply some clear embossing powder and heat set the ink.

The vellum was added to the cloud layers and then to the card with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

The Stitched Shape framelits were combined with the Layering Circle dies to cut a ring from Crumb Cake card stock, and a scalloped circle from Sweet Sugarplum card stock.

The circles were adhered to the card front with some Silver Baker’s Twine in between.

The sentiment is from the same set. This was cut to a banner end with the Triple Banner punch and added this to the card with dimensionals.

A few rhinestones added some sparkle.
