Simple Masking Technique with the Springtime Joy stamp set

Hello Everyone,

Masking is a useful but simple technique to achieve a different look with yours stamps without adding additional layers.

The front most image is stamped first and then covered with a paper mask. Cutting the mask from sticky note paper means it stays in place while the other images are stamped over the top.

You can see how to do this in my video tutorial….

Of course I had to get my Stampin’ Blends out to colour these little guys!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

One Card, Three Ways with the Art in Bloom Bundle

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited about this new product from Stampin’ Up!

The Art in Bloom bundle includes a stamp set, dies and a hybrid embossing folder!

The products can be used independently or in combination to make simple effective cards.

1. Simple stamping – use the stamps alone and colour them with your favourite medium or the two-step elements in the stamp set! I used Stampin’ Blends for my card.

2. Just emboss – use your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss to emboss your card stock. I’ve used Basic White and added colour with Blending Brushes. Why not try other card stock colours?

The ink picks out the embossed details.

3. Stamp, cut & emboss – easily line up your stamped images with the die and embossing folder. The die sits inside the folder which is specifically designed so that it is not damaged in the process – it’s so clever!

(Do not try this with your other embossing folders)

I raised the die cut pieces up on to dimensionals.

You can see how I made these cards in my video tutorial….

This shows just 3 options, but there are so many other combinations to try!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Monday Colour Challenge with Delicate Petals

Hello Everyone,

For this week’s Monday Colour Challenge I am working with;

  • Merry Merlot
  • Mint Macaron
  • Pacific Point

The Delicate Petals was on my desk to use again before it retires. I haven’t seen many samples using this set online either, which is such a pity. I think it is a lovely set.

I have layered the pieces together to create a dimensional floral embellishment .

The Double Oval punch was perfectly sized to cut the sentiment.

You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial….

The background stamp is easy to line up as it is photopolymer. I love how this lines up to create a full circle.

Which is your favourite?

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #091 – Sketch Challenge with World of Good Designer Series Paper

Hello Everyone,

Who fancies a sketch challenge? This one got me thinking I can tell you!

You can see all the other Design Team inspiration for this challenge on the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog post here!

I’ve used some of the Designer Series Paper from the January to June Mini catalogue called World of Good for a masculine card.

The paper can be substituted for any other design to suit your needs.

You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial….

The heat embossing complement the gold foil in the paper. Heating the back first reduces warping in your cardstock.

The Tailored Tag Punch is great for creating banner ends too!

I hope you enjoyed this project.

My project uses the Elegantly Said designer series paper with the Nothings Better Than stamp set and coordinating dies.

It took me some time to decide on how to tackle this theme but overall I was happy with the outcome.

I have layered the designer series paper with the fabulous foil which adds some real luxury to the card. It is for a special occasion after all.

The colouring used both the stamp set and Stampin’ Blends markers.

You can see how I made the card in my video tutorial….

I didn’t need the square piece that I used on the original sample.

Which layout is your favourite?

The additional sentiment on this card is from Brushed Blooms and heat embossed in gold.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Colour Combo Blog Hop – May with Whale Done!

Hi Everyone,

Isn’t this an intriguing set of colours to work with? Green always makes me think of flowers stems and leaves, so I wanted to steer away from floral stamp sets and opted for the Whale Done set….which i haven’t used yet!

I started by adding colour to my stamping layer. I used a scrap paper mask to create subtle stripes of colour, first with Flirty Flamingo and then Shaded Spruce.

The seaweed and fish were stamped next. Second and third generation stamping added depth.

This was added to layers of Magenta Madness cardstock.

The whale and sentiment were punched out and added with dimensionals. Some wink of stella added some subtle shimmer.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else has made with these colours!
