Cue the Confetti

Good Morning!

Welcome to another InspireInk blog hop! This is a group of crafty friends giving inspiration based on a theme.

I have taken advantage of the bright new In Colours for my design and nothing says fun better than a shaker card!

The Pick a Pennant stamp set was used to add banners across to top of the card base using Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover and Grapefruit Grove ink.

The shaker element is made using the layering squares framelits. I decided to use a double frame cut from Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch card stock. Iridescent sequins were used in the shaker.

The sentiment was stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink. The Tailored Tag punch was used to shape the end.

Finally, the Balloon Bouquet punch was used to cut balloons in all five colours and arranged on the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Textures of the Sea #FMS339

Hello Everyone,

This week’s sketch challenge has been set by Jen Brum.

The design team have made some great projects as inspiration; you can see them all on the Freshly Made Sketches blog, here!

This is my entry for the challenge;

I really wanted to use Sea of Textures on this card. I thought the shape could be a coral reef on the sea bed.

I picked out some paper from the coordinating designer series paper collection. The paper was cut diagonally, one piece was flipped over to create the “V” shape.

Before adhering to the card, I stamped the tall sea weed across the background with Tranquil Tide ink.

The papers were added to the card, leaving space for other pieces to be positioned behind them.

Other seaweed and coral elements were die cut from Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig. These were tucked in place.

Finally, the octopus was stamped with Night of Navy ink, die cut and adhered with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Getting There

Hello Everyone,

The project for today uses the new Lilypad Lake bundle.

I like to use the “small stamps” to make cards as they can get overlooked.

This card features the little sail boats, I thought the sentiment was just right.

I have used Whisper White card stock to stamp on measuring 3-3/4 by 5-1/4 inches.

A combination of Coastal Cabana and Balmy Blue ink was used to stamp the water. First, second and third generation stamping added depth and texture.

The sentiment was stamped so the first half lay on the horizon, with the second part off set to the right.

The boats were stamped with Poppy Parade and Gorgeous Grape inks. A blender pen was used to move the ink slightly to add a hint of colour to the sails.

These were die cut and adhered to the card, using a combination of snail and dimensionals.

The panel was added to Tranquil Tide card stock and then on to a Very Vanilla card base.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below. They will be available to purchase from 1st June.

If you don’t have a copy of the new catalogue, please contact me and I will send one out to you free of charge!

The panel was adhered to some Soft Suede card stock. This was then added to a Tranquil Tide card base using dimensionals.

The beautiful tree as stamped twice with Blackberry Bliss ink and die cut. The lighter image was adhered flat, the other was raised using mini dimensionals.

Hello – Just Add Ink #410

Good Morning!

The challenge this week is to use this colourful image as inspiration for a project.

You can see what the design team have made by clicking here!

For me, it was the colours that stood out, along with the bunting and the word ‘hello’.

And this is what I came up with.

The deep green of the wall in the image was mirrored by the Tranquil Tide card base. Clear Versamark ink was used to stamp bunting from the new Pick a Pennant stamp set across the background.

I picked out Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove and the brand new Petal Pink inks to stamp more bunting across a piece of white card stock. This was layered onto Berry Burst and Tempting Turquoise card stock.

I used the Lined Alphabet stamp set to create the word ‘hello’. This was stamped in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with gold powder. The letters were coloured with Bermuda Bay watercolour pencil.

To finish the card, I took the idea of the spots in the background, and added Tranquil Tide pearls from the set of Artisan Pearls.

I hope you enjoyed this project. Some of the supplies used are listed below and are available from 1st June.

In Colours 2018

Hello Everyone!

It’s almost here! The new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue 2018 will go live this Friday 1st June.

We will be saying goodbye to the In Colours that joined in 2016….. But that means there are new ones!

Introducing…..

Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel.

Aren’t they divine!

So for today’s post, I have made five identical cards to showcase these colours and the coordinating card stock and Designer Series Paper.

I have used white card stock to make the card bases and added In Colour DSP to each.

White card stock was cut to 3 by 4-3/4 inches and stamped with matching ink using Touches of Texture.

The Starburst Punch was used to cut the card stocks and adhered to a circle of vellum. This was adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Perennial Birthday was used to stamp the sentiment on to one inch strips of white card. These were trimmed to size using the Triple Banner Punch.

I hope you enjoyed this project. More projects featuring new catalogue items coming over the next week!

A Special Note

Good Morning!

I love how this card turned out. I used a different colour combo than I would do normally. The bright blue really pops the rest of the design.

The base is made with Berry Burst card stock and layered with Tempting Turquoise and Fresh Florals DSP.

The same layers were used to make a square topper. The DSP was flipped to reveal the complimentary pattern for added interest. This was adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Three daisies were punched from Berry Burst card stock and adhered together. This was added to the bottom right corner of the topper. Leaves punched from Wild Wasabi card were added.

S cluster of rhinestones were added to the centre of the flower.

Floral Phrases was used for the sentiment which was stamped with Tempting Turquoise ink.

Inspire.Create #018

Hi there Everyone,

Today I am sharing my entry for the Inspire.Create.Challenge.

I started by constructing the cad base, first of all with Tempting Turquoise and adding Peekaboo Peach and Wild Wasabi. Finally, a white layer was stamped with the sprinkles image with Tempting Turquoise ink.

The central topper was made by adding a 3 inch square of Whisper White to Wild Wasabi and Peekaboo Peach layers.

The ice cream cones were cut from Crumb Cake card stock. First and second generation Sweet Sugarplum ink was used to stamp the ice cream.

These were adhered to the topper with dimensionals.

Lovely Happy Birthday

Good Morning!

I’ve made another large card for today’s project. This one features the Whole Lot of Lovely designer series paper.

The base was made from Tangerine Tango card stock which was cut lengthways at 5-7/8 inches and then folded in half. Keep the leftover strip for later.

A 5-3/4 inch square of patterned paper was added to the front.

Two 3-3/4 inch squares of Tangerine Tango were cut to make the topper. One was covered with patterned paper.

The plain square was adhered flat to the card base with Snail adhesive. The patterned piece was added at an angle with dimensionals.

Using the strip of leftover card stock, punch out six flowers with the Pansy punch. Also cut three sets of leaves from Old Olive card stock with the Leaf Punch.

Each of the flowers were lightly spritzed with water and scrunched. Once dry, two flowers were layered together with glue dots.

The flowers and leaves were arranged in the corner. Black rhinestones were added to the centres.

I used my stamparatus to make sure the sentiment was stamped well. Using the tool allowed me to stamp twice in the same place to give a very crisp image. I cut some banner ends and adhered with Snail adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

Wood Words Gift Set

Good Morning,

Those of you who follow my blog will know I am most definitely a card maker, but today I have stretched myself and made this simple matchbox to hold a tea light.

I have used Tempting Turquoise as the colour theme. This is a retiring colour. Of course, this can be made in whatever colour you wish… There are plenty to choose from in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

I used the large floral image was stamped to create a background.

The topper was made with a combination of circle punches and layering circles dies.

The sentiment was stamped first, adding the stars over the top with second and third generation ink.

The final piece was added to the card with dimensionals.

To make the gift box, I began by constructing the insert for the tea light.

A piece if card stock was cut to 3-1/4 inches square and scored on all sides at 1/4 inch. A die was used to cut the aperture.

The tray was made next. Card stock was cut to 3-3/4 inches square and scored on each side at a fraction under 1/2 inch. The insert was secure in place with a little multipurpose glue.

To make the sleeve, a strip of card stock 2-13/16 inch wide was cut from the full length of an A4 sheet. This was scored at 2-13/16. The next score was made 9/16 from the first. Continue until three squares have been created and cut away the excess.

The centre square was decorated in the same way as the card.

The end squares were adhered together with fast fuse to form the sleeve.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.

I would love to be your demonstrator! Be sure to check the latest deals on the clearance rack and the list of retiring products…. When they are gone they are gone!!

There is also an exciting early release bundle which is truly stunning. See below.

Good Times! Just Add Ink 408

Happy Monday!

I am taking part in this week’s Just Add Ink colour challenge today.

The design team have made some fabulous samples. You can see them here.

These are the colours for the challenge. Whilst they shout out florals, I wanted to do something different.

I decided to build a background and make the sentiment the feature.

I picked out the Happy Celebrations set because I liked the idea of using triangles to make my background.

The card base is made with Wild Wasabi card stock.

Layers were cut from Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and adhered these together.

A separate Whisper White layer WS cut for stamping. The triangles were stamped with Pear Pizzazz and Powder Pink inks. I used first, second and third generation ink to get a range of shades in the same colour.

The stamped panel was adhered to the other layers. Some Powder Pink finely woven ribbon was added at the bottom. This was then secured to the card base with dimensionals.

The “celebrate” and “good times” sentiments were stamped separately with Wild Wasabi ink and trimmed to size. These were added to the card using dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Sending Hugs & Kisses

Hi there Everyone,

I have made this cute card today using two of my favourite retiring colours and the Lovely Inside and Out bundle.

The card base is made with Dapper Denim card stock which I have layered with Soft Sky and White.

In a separate piece of white card stock, I stamped the sunburst sort of image using Soft Sky Dapper Denim inks. I adhered this to more Dapper Denim card stock and then to the card base with dimensionals.

I used the coordinating “hugs” die with layering circles to created the topper which was added to the card using dimensionals.

I stamped the additional parts of the sentiment with Dapper Denim ink and cut them with the Classic Label punch, (also retiring).

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies I have used are available while stocks last. The links are below.
