Sending Love #GDP108

Good Morning.,

It’s Global Design Project time.

This week the challenge is to CASE the designer, Brian King. You can see what the design team created here.

This is what I made;

The original card uses a DSP background. I selected this piece from the A Whole Lot of Lovely collection. This determined the colour of the card base – Pool Party. I stuck with Early Espresso for the matting.

I used the coordinating stamp set for the bold greeting which I decided to heat emboss with copper powder.

I pulled in two hearts, rather than just one. I picked out Early Espresso to match the layers, and Tangerine Tango from the paper.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Coffee Shaker

Good Morning!

Here’s a first… A shaker card!

I have used a Crumb Cake card base.

Some Coffee Break DSP was cut to size. Before adhering this to the card, I die cut a circle forming an aperture.

The same die was used to cut some Early Espresso card stock, I then used a larger scalloped circle to create a frame.

I cut some foiled acetate with the same scalloped die. The Early Espresso frame was adhered to this to create a window. On the reverse, I used a foam strip, these are easy to shape around the window.

Some sequins were added to the card base. Don’t make the pile to deep as they will get caught and move around. The window was positioned over the top.

A coffee cup was stamped in Crumb Cake ink, with the sentiment added in Early Espresso.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Inspire. Create. Challenge #002

Hi there,

It’s time for a new Inspire.Create. Challenge!

This time it’s a sketch challenge.

You can see what the design team came up with here.

This is my interpretation. I have used the Eastern Beauty suite of products.

I started by making a card base from Dapper Denim card stock. I added a Lemon Lime Twist card layer.

A piece of designer series paper was cut slightly smaller, and then sliced at an angle, I didn’t measure it – just went for it.

The centre panel is made with Dapper Denim card stock. This is 3/4 inch smaller than the card layer. A Whisper White layer was cut to 1/8 inch smaller. This panel was adhered flat to the card base.

For the sentiment, I stamped the circle and wording with Dapper Denim ink and die cut with a Layering Circle Framelit. This was adhered to an Eastern Medallion cut from Lemon Lime Twist card stock.

A vinyl sticker was placed on to the card. The medallion was then added with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

The card base is made with Rich Razzleberry card stock. A white card layer was wrapped with Stitched Edge ribbon and adhered with dimensionals.

The greeting from the Carols of Christmas stamp set was stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink and die cut. I adhered this to the front of a foil snowflake, then to the card with dimensionals.

Joy of Sets Challenge 007

I have chosen the Watercolor Christams set.

I started with a Whisper White card base. On a white card layer, I stamped the little trees in versamark ink and heat embossed them with silver powder. Some metallic edged ribbon was added across the card. I adhered this to the card base with Fast Fuse.

The lovely script sentiment was also stamped in versamark and embossed with copper powder and die cut with a Layering Square framelit. This was layered on to a scalloped square cut from vellum card stock and added to the card with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

There For Me

Good Morning,

I gave in and made an eclipse card. All the examples I have seen use letters to make this style of card, but I decided to do something a bit different.

The card itself is very simple.

The base is made with Pear Pizzazz card stock.

The white layer was stamped with the bamboo image from Artistically Asian using Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive ink.

Heart dies were used to cut apertures from the stamped layer. Keep the pieces that come out. Cut another pair of hearts from thick Whisper White to sit in each aperture.

Stick down the stamped layer on to the card base. Add two layers of the plain hearts to each aperture, then the stamped ones on top.

A sentiment from the set was added in black ink at the bottom of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

RAWR!

Hey there,

This is a fun card to make for a special someone in your life.

This card features the Pick A Pattern designer series paper which is currently included in the DSP sale this month.

The paper helps me to decide on the colour scheme of the card. For this I picked out Sahara Sand as a neutral to make the card base.

I have teamed this with the No Bones About It stamp set. I used one of the skeletons and Sahara Sand ink to add interest.

A piece of Basic Black card was cut 1/2 inch shorter and narrower than the card front, with the DSP being cut 1/8 inch smaller again. I added some Crushed Curry bakers twine and adhered this to the card at a slight angle with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped with Crushed Curry ink and die cut. This was layered on to some Emerald Envy card stock cut with the Starburst punch. A small banner of Sahara Sand card stock was put behind this for some contrast.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Being You #GDP107

Good Morning,

I am joining in the Global Design Project Challenge again.

This week is a theme challenge. Click here to see what the design team created.

Here is my project.

inkybutterfly: Copper embossed Hello Friend card for Global Design Project #107

I have made use of the Hello Friend stamp set.

From Whisper White card stock, I created a card base and cut two card layers, 4 by 5-3/4 and 3-1/2 by 4-3/4 inches.

On the larger piece, I used Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the decorative image in two corners. This was adhered flat to the card base.

The smaller layer was rubbed over with an embossing buddy. The wreath was stamped in versamark ink and heat embossed with copper powder.

Some Pear Pizzazz Shimmer ribbon was wrapped around and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and die cut. This was positioned on top of the ribbon, with loops of copper metallic thread behind it.

To complete the card, I added a small bow and rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Missing You

inkybutterfly: Oh So Eclectic

Hi there,

The Oh So Eclectic Suite is truly beautiful. The stamp set and the Designer Series Paper are currently on special offer, check them out in the shop.

The patterned paper has dictated the colour scheme today. Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist – so vibrant.

The card base is made from Fresh Fig card stock. Lemon Lime Twist card stock was cut to 5-3/4 by 3-1/4 inches. DSP was cut to 5-3/4 by 3 inches. These were layered together with snail adhesive down the centre of the card base.

On to some Whisper White card stock, I stamped three flower images, stamping ink off on to scrap paper once first. These ere die cut with the matching thinlits.

I also die cut the detailed flowers from Fresh Fig card stock, and layered these on to the stamped flowers with tombow glue.

I also stamped and die cut some leaves. The sentiment was cut with the Classic Label punch.

The decorative elements were arranged onto a vellum circle, then adhered this to the card base.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Coffee Anyone?

inkybutterfly: Simple card made with the Coffee Break suite from Stampin' UP!

Good Morning!

Here is some inspiration on how to use the Coffee Cafe stamp set and coordinating Coffee Break designer paper. Both items are included in the current Stampin’ UP! promotions. Visit the shop to see what’s on offer.

I have started with a Whisper White card made in my usual way.

I usually cut large layer for my card, but I have changed things up a bit for this project. The Early Espresso layer is 3-1/2 by 5-1/4 and the DSP is 3-1/8 by 4-7/8

Some Soft Sky ribbon and Old Olive bakers twine was added before adhering to the card base.

The coffee cup was stamped with Crumb Cake ink, the sentiment with Pear Pizzazz and cut out.

This was added to a Stitched Circle die cut and then adhered to the card with dimensionals.

I hope enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.

Sunshine

Hi Folks,

I know Autumn is here and the nights are drawing in, but I thought I would bring some sunshine in to the craft room.

I have used a small stamp from the Christmas Quilt set the make the background. The colours used were Sweet Sugarplum, Lemon Lime Twist and Peekaboo Peach.

I adhered this panel to a Lemon Lime Twist card base.

The word “sunshine” was die cut from black card stock. The “hello” is from the Sunshine Sayings set was stamped in black ink. A small bow was tied from black bakers twine.

I hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies used are listed below.
