I couldn’t resist using this colour combo from the recent Creative Colour Challenge run by my lovely friend @vickieloudesigns!
I have chosen one of my favourite stamp sets, Layering Leaves. It’s been around for a while, but it is so easy to use on its own or with other products.

Basic Grey is a great alternative to black for sentiments, and there are some adhesive pearls to match.

Whilst the greys are sombre colours that lend themselves to sympathy cards, they can still make something beautiful.
I’ve worked with four shades today, this sample uses the warmer Gray Granite and Pebbled Path. You can see the difference in the look with cool shades Basic Grey and Smoky Slate below.
I chose to work with the Layers of Beauty decorative masks.
The large image was die cut and added to complementary card bases and layered panels. The bright white was knocked back with the residual ink on my blending brush.
The sentiment was cut with a die or punch with a touch of ribbon behind and finished with some grey pearls.
I have not had a chance to use this delightful new punch bundle yet! This set is featured on the cover of the mini catalogue and has proven very popular.

The embossing on the background panel adds some detail.
I love the bold contrast of the Pecan Pie but the subtle look using Crumb Cake is lovely too!
The little heart from the punch is cute embellishment and a splash of colour comes from the wreath.

I have worked with Garden of Thanks, and with some extra cardstock from my stash, made 3 cards with the supplies for just one… I even used up the scraps!

Whether you choose a monochromatic look or something a little different, these cards look amazing when they are complete.
I used a bunch of pearls or rhinestones to add some glitz and sparkle too.
