I wanted to share some quick and simple winter cards with you today. I thought these would be great to give to friends who do not celebrate Christmas!
I chose to use some bright pinks to create the card.
Second generation Bubble Bath and Pretty in Pink created a soft background. Detailed snowflake images were added with Pretty in Pink and Petunia Pop ink.
You can see how I made this card in my video tutorial….
Blackberry Bliss was used as the accent colour in the layering and the sentiment.
A strip of striped iridescent ribbon added some shimmer and texture.
For the original card, I used a combination of Pool Party, Balmy Blue and Coastal Cabana with Night of Navy.
The supplies used are listed and linked to the online store below.
I couldn’t resist using this colour combo from the recent Creative Colour Challenge run by my lovely friend @vickieloudesigns!
I have chosen one of my favourite stamp sets, Layering Leaves. It’s been around for a while, but it is so easy to use on its own or with other products.

Basic Grey is a great alternative to black for sentiments, and there are some adhesive pearls to match.

Whilst the greys are sombre colours that lend themselves to sympathy cards, they can still make something beautiful.
I’ve worked with four shades today, this sample uses the warmer Gray Granite and Pebbled Path. You can see the difference in the look with cool shades Basic Grey and Smoky Slate below.
I chose to work with the Layers of Beauty decorative masks.
The large image was die cut and added to complementary card bases and layered panels. The bright white was knocked back with the residual ink on my blending brush.
The sentiment was cut with a die or punch with a touch of ribbon behind and finished with some grey pearls.
