Old vs New – part 2

Hello again,

I hope you didn’t lose that piece of Delightful Dijon card stock from yesterday…. Time to use it.

To start, remove 3/4 from the long side then svore all 4 sides at 1 3/8 inches.

Cut and fold tabs to form the box base.

The lid is made using Tranquil Tide card stock from the Eastern Palace bundle. Cut to 5 1/4 by 7 3/8.

Wipe the surface of the card with an embossing buddy. Stamp the pattern in versamark ink, cover in clear embossing powder and heat set.

Score all 4 sides at 1 1/4 inches. Cut and fold tabs to create the box lid.

To decorate, cut shapes in Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Delightful Dijon. The greting was stamped using Tranquil Tide ink.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Old vs New Gift Box

Good Morning!

To continue the Eastern Palace theme, I will be sharing some projects incorporating other Stampin’ Up! products.

For today’s project, I am using the retiring In Colour, Delightful Dijon.

For the base, cut an A4 sheet of Delightful Dijon on the long side at 5 1/2 inches. Put this piece to one side, it will be used in tomorrow’s project.

The remaining piece is scored at 1 3/4 inches on all 4 sides. Cut and fold tabs to create the box.

For the lid, use Fresh Fig card stock from the Eastern Palace bundle. Cut this to 5 1/4 by 7 3/8.

Wipe the surface with an Embossing Buddy. Using versamark ink, stamp the pattern over the entire piece. The shape fits together beautifully. (Practice on scrap first). Cover with clear embossing powder and set with a heat tool.

Score at 1 1/4 on all 4 sides. Cut and fold tabs to form the box.

To decorate, cut the large medallion in Delightful Dijon.

Cut two 4 pointed shapes from Fresh Fig, and layer them together.

Stamp the greeting in versamark and emboss with clear powder. Cut using a scalloped Layering Circle die.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Hi there Everyone,

I have a 3D project for you today.

The box base was made from Tip Top Taupe card stock. This is a retiring colour, but could easily be substituted with Crumb Cake or Smoky Slate.

Cut the card to 4 1/2 inch square and score all 4 sides at 1 inch.

For the lid, cut the designer paper to 6 1/4 inch square. Score all 4 sides at 1 and 2 inches. Cut and notch out tabs. Secure 2 corners of the box as normal. Place the lid on to the box then secure the remaining tabs around the base to ensure a perfect fit.

The lid was decorated with a viyl sticker and a medallion die cutvin Dapper Denim. The sentiment was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink, die cut and added to the box with dimensinals.

Hi Crafters,

There are some delightful Designer papers. I have teamed this one with Dapper Denim.

The paper was cut to 5 3/4 by 3 3/4. Some vinyl stickers were added to the left and right hand borders.

The sentiment and circle were stamped in Dapper Denim. A round vinyl sticker was adhered around this, then die cut.

A scalloped circle was cut from Dapper Denim card stock. This was adhered flat to the card base. The sentimebt was added with Dimensionals.

The card was finished with a small gold  bow.

Good Morning Everyone,

Today’s card is similar to yesterday. This time I wanted to show off Tranquil Tide. This is such a beautiful blue-green colour.

The medallion was adhered flat to the card base this time. Two accent stamps were used to decorate this.

A vinyl sticker was adhered to the centre. A border sticker was also  added along the bottom.

The sentiment was stamped in Tranquil Tide, die cut and adhered with dimensionals.

Another very quick project. Switch up the colours for a different look!

Hello Crafters,

Love this card, says it all and truly elegant.

I have featured the new In Colour, Fresh Fig. I used this to stampt the circle and sentiment ongo Very Vanilla card stock. I cut this out with a Layering Circle framelit, but a punch would also do the job.

I then cut some Fresh Fig card stock using one of the Eastern Medallion dies. The sentiment was adhered to this with dimensionals.

A large vinyl sticker was adhered to the card base. I added a small stamp image around the edge, then added the medallion with dimensionals.

Beautiful and easy to make!

Welcome to project number 2 featuring the Eastern Palace bundle.
On the background I have used Lemon Lime Twist to stamp this tiny motif.
I then stamped the 6 pointed flower in Fresh Fig and die cut with the coordinating framelits. I added a gold vinyl sticker to the centres.
The flowers were shaped using a foam pad add a ball tool, and adhered to the card.
The sentiment was added in Dapper Denim ink.
This took minutes to make, and I think it is really stunning. I hope you give it a go too.

Hi there everyone,
Yesterday I told you all about the new Eastern Palace bundles available as a early release.
Today I have a card project using this suite to show you. As a demonstrator, I have the added perk of ordering new products in advance, and I have been playing with this bundle already to show how it can be used. I will be showing a different project everyday this week.
On the background I have used the circular images in Dapper Denim, Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist.
I wanted to use all the featured colours, so I selected a piece of designer paper that was predominantly Tranquil Tide. I added a 2 inch strip to the bottom and topped it with a 1/2 inch strip of Dapper Denim.
I then used the framelits to cut Fresh Fig and Very Vanilla card stock to create the sentiment medallion. The card was finished by adding a vinyl sticker border.
I hope you like this project. The supplies used are listed and linked below.
Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Kaleidoscope

Hello Crafters,

One of the first stamp sets I bought from Stampin’ Up! was Papillon Potpourri. Sadly, this is retiring at the end of May.

So in honour of this set here is a really simple card.

Using a rainbow of colours, I stamped out one of the butterflies and punched them out with the coordinating punch.

These were adhered to white 1 inch circles, wings bent up for a bit of realism.

The background was stamped with Gorgeous Grunge in Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate.

Arrange the butterflies as desired. The sentiment is from That’s the Tag.

I hope you like this card. Retiring supplies are only available while stocks last. There is a link to the shop in the menu.

Sunburst Balloons

Good Morning Everyone,

Lift Me Up is my favourite set in the Occasions catalogue… I am so happy it will be staying with us.

This sunburst design in the Cupcakes & Carousels paper stack is the perfect accompaniment.

Four balloons were stamped and die cut. The larger balloon was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hope you like this project. Shop for the supplies used by clicking on the links in the menu.

Sparkles

Hi there crafters,

There is something magical about heat embossing…using clear powder gives a great tone on tone tone look.

I have used the Love Sparkles stamp set.

The card stock was prepared with an embossing buddy. This prevents excess powder sticking where it isn’t wanted.

The star image was then stamped with clear versamark embossing ink. Add the embossing powder and tip off the excess. Heat the powder until it melts and turns glossy.

The sentiment was embossed in gold and then die cut with a Stitched Shape framelit.

The card was finished with some ribbon and rhinestones.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Thanks for stopping by.

Triple Candle Box

Hello again Everyone!

It’s my final week as a Pootler’s design team member…. This has been so much fun. So I am ending with a 3D project. I am very pleased with this.

6 months ago I couldn’t make boxes for toffee…but practice makes perfect.

For the base, cut some Whisper White to 6 1/2 by 11 inches. Stamp the leaf in Cucumber Crush ink. Then score all 4 sides at 2 1/4. burnish and notch out tabs as below:

For the insert, also in Whisper White, cut to 8 by 3 1/2 and score at 3/4 inch. Die cut 3 holes. Start with the end 2 and then it is easier to centre the middle one. Burnish and notch out:

For the lid, cut some Cucumber Crush card to 11 1/2 by 7 inches. Stamp the leaf as before. Score at 1 1/4 and 2 1/2. The lid will be reinforced for added strength:

To add a little something, I wrappex some ribbon around the lid, secured discreetly with some fast fuse.

I love it… Hope you do too!

Scrap Patchwork

Good Morning,

Using up scraps of paper can be challenging. I got this idea from fellow demonstrator Dena Rekow in the US. Whilst her design uses strips, I have used squares to create a patchwork.

All the squares are 2 by 2 inches and simply adhered to the card base.

I added some “stitching” with a fine pen.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla card stock.

The supplies used in this project are listed and linked below.

Some products are currently on the retiring list, shop now to avoid disappointment.

Doily Delights

Hi there,

Today’s projects were created to use up these beautiful doilies which, sadly, will not be carried in to the new catalogue in June.

All the cards are constructed in the same way with some variation on the theme.

The idea of making a background had been in my mind for a while.  The first card is made with black card and the vanilla side of the doily.

A sentiment was added to the card. This was heat embossed in white.

Here, I have used Perfect Plum and white doilies arranged slightly differently. The sentiment was added with Elegant Eggplant card, also heat embossed.

This came next, using Night of Navy card.

Finally, this was made with Delightful Dijon.

I hope you like these projects.

Umbrellas

Good Morning,

Let’s hope we won’t be needing these for too much longer….but this is such a cute card.

The umbrellas were stamped with Smokey Slate, Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder then die cut with the matching framelits. These shapes could be cut out by hand very easily too.

They are added to the card using tape and dimensionals for a layered effect.

The rain drops were added using Pool Party and Soft Sky ink.

The sentiment was also stamped in Night of Navy ink and cut in to a banner and added across the middle of the card.

I hope you like this project and give this a go.

Hello Crafters,

A really quick and simple project for today.

This card took minutes to make but still looks beautiful.

Using Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green snd Wild Wasabe, I simply stamped the same leaf image roughly evenly spaced.

I added a greeting stamped with Early Espresso ink and cut in to a fish tail banner and added some pearls.

Blessed

Hi Everyone,

Today’ s projects use the Paisleys and Posies Suite of products. The designer paper is retiring, however, the stamps and dies will be carrying over into the new catalogue…. but will not be available as a bundle.

The base is made in Mint Macaron card stock cut to 8 1/4 inches square. Score at 2 3/4 on all four sides. Burnish the creases and cut tabs as shown below. Fold into a box shape.

The lid was made with designer paper measuring 7 1/2 inches square scored on all four sides at 2 1/2 inches.

The top is decorated with a number of stacked circles and a Lace Doily. I also added a tag made frim Very Vanilla card and tied with copper metallic thread.

l also made a couple of cards while I had the set out. Both are standard A6 in size.

For the first card, I made a base layer of Mint Macaron measuring 4 by 5 3/4 inches. I then cut some designer paper to 3 3/4 by 4 1/4 inches, which I then cut at an angle. These pieces layered on to the Mint Macaron layer to make a “valley”.

For the greeting. I stamped in Emerald Envy ink and cut the strip to fit the space I had created. I adhered this with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The decoration uses elements from the stamp set stamped in Emerald Envy on Very Vanilla card stock, which I then die cut. These were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished with a rhinestone.

The centre piece of this card looks beautiful. The sentiment was stamped in Emerald Envy and cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits.

I then cut 6 of the decorative elements using the framelits collection from Emerald Envy card stock. These were adhered with Tombow to the reverse of the Stitched Circle.

This was finished with some tiny pearls.

I hope you have enjoyed these projects.

Louise’s Box

Hey there crafty friends,

I made this for my friend Louise. I love exploding boxes and designed this one to fit some smelly stuff.

I started with the base section that will hold the bottle in place. I wanted it deep enough so it would not fall over or wobble too much inside the finished box.

I selected a die from Layering Circles that would fit around the bottle, and then judged the depth required.

From these estimates I decided to cut some Crumb Cake card to 8 1/4 inch square, scored at 1 and 2 3/4 inches. I cut the circle from the centre before constructing.

Form the box as usual. The base will be partially open, that is the flaps won’t meet. A square of card placed inside before sealing the box covers this up and makes the inside look neater.

For the side panels I cut Crumb Cake card to 9 1/2 by 2 3/4 and scored at 2 3/4. Make 4 of these. Decorate with DSP measuring 5 3/4 by 2 inches, which was layered on to card stock, 6 by 2 1/2 inches. I used Affectionately Yours and Tip Top Taupe.

The lid was made from Crumb Cake card measuring 6 3/4 inches square, scored at 2 inches. Decorated as above. DSP cut to 2 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches, (4 pieces) and 2 1/2 inch square for the top. Card layers cut to 2 5/8 by 1 3/4 inches, (4 pieces) and 2 5/8 inch square for the top.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Dijon Grunge

wp-1490294518222.jpgwp-1490562794387.jpg

Welcome to my Pootler’s Design Team project numbeeeer ….3!

On this card, I wanted to keep some of the white space, but add interest without bulk. So the ever faithful Gorgeous Grunge set was deployed. It doesn’t seem to matter what colours you use…it always looks awesome.

The flowers were stamped on to Delightful Dijon card stock using Early Espresso ink and then fussy cut. For added dimension I also stamped and cut out the centre part separately to create a layered flower. The petals were shaped using an embossing tool and a foam mat.

The sentiment from That’s the Tag, was stamped using Soft Suede ink, punched out using the Classic Label and added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This was very easy to put together, I hope you give it a go!

Join me again next week for the final project in this design team series.
